About Us

Our Heritage
PrimeSouth Bank has a rich heritage that dates back to the 1950s. The bank opened on September 2, 1958 as The Peoples Bank of Carrville in Carrville/East Tallassee, Alabama. The bank relocated the Main Office from Carrville to its current location at 301 Main Street in Tallassee in 1985. At this time, the bank also shortened its name to The Peoples Bank.

Still operating as The Peoples Bank, the bank opened a second branch location at 1217 Gilmer Avenue in Tallassee on August 17, 1995. This new location helped the bank to better serve the entire city of Tallassee and added convenience for bank customers.

In April 2004, the bank's name was changed to PrimeSouth Bank. Later that year on August 9, 2004, the bank opened a third branch location at 3936 U.S. Highway 231 in Wetumpka, Alabama. This new branch expanded PrimeSouth's footprint to service a larger customer base in Elmore County.

PrimeSouth celebrated its 55th anniversary on September 2, 2013. That same month, they opened their fourth location at 225 Emma Lane, Pike Road, Alabama (located just off Chantilly Parkway).

The Bank Today
PrimeSouth Bank and its employees take pride in serving and giving back to the local community. The bank believes that service to the community comes in many forms, including financial support to local charitable organizations and schools as well as active participation in local events. The citizens we serve see PrimeSouth Bank as an active contributor and will see its employees voluntarily giving back.
